In 2020 a mild and dry winter, distinguished by temperatures higher than average, was followed by a cool spring characterized by high day-night temperature swings and one very exceptional snowfall on March 26th, which fortunately did not cause much damage for our vineyards as bud break was somewhat delayed. The month of June was quite rainy, permitting the soil to accumulate good water reserves. In July and August the days turned very warm and dry while maintaining a positive excursion of temperature between day and night, which sustained the natural balance of the vines and helped develop a good aromatic profile in the grapes. Refreshing rainfalls appeared at the end of August, right before the harvest which started on September 9th.

The 2020 Brunello was produced exclusively with an accurate selection of Sangiovese from those parcels identified in our proprietary vineyards.

The 2020 Brunello was vinified in both oak casks, concrete, and stainless steel, using only indigenous yeasts from our proprietary vineyards. Successively, it was aged in Slavonian oak casks for 24 months.
